The Estancia Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Bosco Tech Tigers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Estancia has five straight victories, Bosco Tech has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Estancia barely beat La Quinta the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Aztecs on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
Ramon Perez got the start for Estancia and what a start it was: he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Perez has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Estancia got a massive performance out of Sawyer Atkinson, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI Atkinson has posted since back in May of 2025. Sean Sweeney was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Estancia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Bosco Tech couldn't beat St. Monica on Friday even though they stacked six runs on them in the sixth inning. The Tigers fell 9-6 to the Mariners.
Joshua Velasquez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Bosco Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 4-21. As for Estancia, their record is now 11-13.
Estancia was able to grind out a solid win over Bosco Tech in their previous meeting back in February of 2025, winning 6-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
