After a string of four wins, the Sonora Raiders's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 50-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sunny Hills. If Sonora hoped to take revenge for the 44-41 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Despite the loss, Sonora still got an impressive performance from Kiana Graham, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Samantha Wilson, who scored three points along with ten rebounds.
Sunny Hills had a senior duo take command as Natalie Do scored 24 points along with five rebounds and Erin Choi scored 19 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Do has scored all season. Taylor Parra was another key contributor, scoring five points along with three steals.
Sonora's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-12. As for Sunny Hills, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sonora's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Buena Park at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th. Buena Park has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 642 points over their last nine matchups. As for Sunny Hills, they will be playing at home against Fullerton at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fullerton is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
