Hagen Hughes Delivers Best Effort of Season
Hagen Hughes produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Azle to the win on Friday. Hughes rushed for 251 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.9 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards.
The win for Azle keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Hughes and Azle are taking a road trip to challenge Fossil Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Sadly, Lamar Leggins posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Birdville over Azle on Friday. Leggins rushed for 182 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry.
Birdville is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. Leggins and Birdville will challenge Denton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Drew Kates Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Drew Kates's big game helped extend Richland's winning streak to six on Friday. Kates showed up in a big way, throwing for 363 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.7% of his passes, and also rushing for 42 yards. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 3.2 passing touchdowns per game. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played dating back to last season.
