After both having extra time off, the Redding Christian Lions and the Chester Volcanoes will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Redding Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
Redding Christian took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over Burney. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lions needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Wyatt Shaw was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Bradie Ogden looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Brodie Ogden, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Tucker Goodman was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one triple.
Redding Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, Chester came up short against Los Molinos last Friday, falling 16-1. The Volcanoes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Chester's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Redding Christian, the victory also got them back to even at 5-5.
Everything went Redding Christian's way against Chester in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Redding Christian made off with a 21-11 win. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Volcanoes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
