Softball Recap: Elkhorn South Wins Going Away Against Wayne

After only one run in their last matchup, Elkhorn South made sure to put some runs up on the board against Wayne on Saturday. The Storm were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Blue Devils. The result was nothing new for the Storm, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Saoirse Park, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Delaney Shield, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

Elkhorn South was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .619. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Elkhorn South has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Wayne, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
