John Carlson and Aiden Visconti made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Carlson struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Visconti pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Carlson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Carlson scored three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances, while Visconti got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI. Those four runs gave Visconti a new career-high.
In other batting news, Trinity Classical Academy got a massive performance out of Andrew Carlson, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Carlson has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Herta, who went 4-for-6 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs.
Trinity Classical Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive games.
Polytechnic's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Chadwick two weeks ago. The Panthers walked away with a 6-1 win over the Dolphins. That looming 6-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Panthers yet this season.
Caiden Kennedy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Polytechnic is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-6 otherwise. Kennedy was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.
Trinity Classical Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Polytechnic, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.
Polytechnic's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Trinity Classical Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .372. It's a different story for Polytechnic, though, as they've only averaged .198. Will they be able to contain Trinity Classical Academy's hitters?
Trinity Classical Academy might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Polytechnic when the teams last played back in February of 2023.
