Basketball Game Preview: Ceres Bulldogs vs. Beyer Patriots

The Ceres Bulldogs will face off against the Beyer Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Ceres took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Grace Davis by a score of 65-55.

Ceres' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Arrayah Stallworth, who posted 12 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. Those five assists gave Stallworth a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Savannah Leifried, who put up ten points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.

Meanwhile, Beyer posted their closest win since December 18, 2023 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 47-45 victory over Pacheco.

Ceres better keep an eye on Kylie Kulina. She was instrumental in Beyer's win, almost dropping a double-double on 26 points and nine boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Kulina has scored at least a third of Beyer's points. Nevayh Gonzales-Taylor was another key player, putting up six points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Ceres is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.2 points per game. As for Beyer, they pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Ceres strolled past Beyer in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a score of 53-35. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Kulina, who had 24 points.
