After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Antelope Valley, the Lancaster Eagles were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They came out on top against Independence by a score of 52-44.
Despite the loss, Independence saw an underclassman step up: Madison Harrold scored six points along with ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Kaylynn Bolden, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Independence were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Lancaster has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Independence, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Lancaster won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Paso Robles at 11:30 a.m. on December 28th. Independence will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Golden Valley on December 28th.
