Surry Central has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Forbush Falcons at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Surry Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully the Falcons like a good challenge.
In what's become a running theme this season, Surry Central gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Elkin 76-48 at home. Given Surry Central's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Buckin' Elks are ranked 599th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Surry Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ayden Wilmoth, who scored 16 points along with two steals. Wilmoth has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last five times he's played. Evan Wall was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Forbush's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 69-37 loss at the hands of North Surry. Forbush has struggled against the Greyhounds recently, as their matchup on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Surry Central pushed their record up to 15-4 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Forbush, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.
Everything came up roses for Surry Central against the Falcons when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 77-22 win. With Surry Central ahead 58-17 at the half, the match was all but over already.
