The St. Lucy's Regents were the 53-28 winner over the South El Monte Eagles when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. St. Lucy's received a tough blow on Monday as they fell 50-35 to South El Monte. It was the first time this season that St. Lucy's let down their fans at home.
Several Regents players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Stella Yegge, who scored six points along with seven rebounds. Yegge hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Danika Mejico, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
St. Lucy's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3. As for South El Monte, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
