The Washington Huskies are taking a road trip to square off against the Valley Christian Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Washington will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
On Monday, Washington made easy work of Skyline and carried off a 9-1 victory.
Ehkam Braich spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Washington let Tyler Stevens and Peyton Romero run wild. Stevens went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, while Romero went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Romero a new career-high. Logan Lopez also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Washington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Valley Christian and Archbishop Moeller (ranked 74th and fourth in the MaxPreps national rankings respectively) squared off in a high-profile game on Thursday. The Warriors walked away with a 10-7 win over the Fighting Crusaders. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.
Valley Christian also got a great performance from Rohan Kasanagottu as he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits (and only one walk).
On the hitting side, Hunter Fujimoto was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Colton Hadfield, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Washington's record is now 9-7. As for Valley Christian, their record now sits at 15-4-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Washington has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Valley Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Washington came up short against Valley Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2017, falling 4-0. Can the Huskies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
