Lakeview Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ricky Brown, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, Loganville Christian Academy's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Riverside Military Academy a 23-0 shutout.
Alex Carruthers was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Loganville Christian Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-8 otherwise. Carruthers was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Brooks Baldwin was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. He has become a key player for Loganville Christian Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-9 otherwise. Brody Hahn was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
Loganville Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .806. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Lakeview Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Loganville Christian Academy, their record now sits at 5-9.
