The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Doniphan-Trumbull in their matchups with Centura: they've now lost four in a row.
Doniphan-Trumbull's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Charlee Richter, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, and Ridley Sadd who scored five points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That was a full 42.3% of Doniphan-Trumbull's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Centura was led to victory by Kyra Wooden and Kennedy Davis. Wooden scored nine points along with ten rebounds and five assists, while Davis scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals. Wooden has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlie Sokol, who scored six points along with two steals.
Doniphan-Trumbull's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Centura, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
Doniphan-Trumbull will head out on the road to challenge Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Centennial is ranked 147th, while Doniphan-Trumbull is ranked 153rd). As for Centura, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Gibbon at 6:15 p.m.
