The Canyon Cowboys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season. They blew past McClintock 55-25 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-11.
Canyon was led to victory by Isabella Escribano and Josie Regez. Escribano scored 19 points along with eight assists, while Regez scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Regez has scored at least 25% of Canyon's points. Another player making a difference was Kodia ?Koko? Booker, who scored two points along with 13 rebounds and five assists.
Despite the defeat, McClintock saw an underclassman step up: Lamaiya Woodberry scored 19 points. The game was Woodberry's seventh in a row with at least ten points.
Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for McClintock, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Canyon is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Huntington Beach at 5:00 p.m. on December 20th. McClintock won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tournament Team at 3:00 p.m. on December 20th.
