The Harbor Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Live Oak, falling 53-16. Harbor lost against Live Oak in their previous head to head back in December of 2017, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 42-20 score last time.
Harbor's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malalai Martin Etemadi, who scored six points. Martin Etemadi scored a full 37.5% of Harbor's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Harbor's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Live Oak, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.
Harbor will head out on the road to face off against Santa Cruz at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Cruz presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Harbor in California (Santa Cruz is ranked 251st, while Harbor is ranked 940th). As for Live Oak, they will be playing at home against Mills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
