Cayleb Duran made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nate Spellman, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Noah Medina was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Silver Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive contests.
Silver Creek's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Overfelt, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Overfelt has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .524. However, it's not like Silver Creek struggles in that department as they've averaged .537. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
