St. Monica is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Shadow Hills by a score of 4-1.
Julian Salcedo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Nick Wisot was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Rancho Mirage gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Crossroads 11-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rattlers.
Jayden Cunningham looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
On the hitting side, Rancho Mirage let Gael Martinez and Kobee Finnikin run wild. Martinez got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Finnikin got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Ezra Aparicio was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
St. Monica pushed their record up to 15-12 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Rancho Mirage, their win bumped their record up to 17-12.
St. Monica took their victory against Rancho Mirage in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 8-2 score. Will the Mariners repeat their success, or do the Rattlers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
