The Comstock Colts's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight defeat. They fell just short of Lawrence by a score of 47-45. Comstock was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lawrence to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noel Saldana, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Saldana has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben McCaw, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Comstock has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Lawrence, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Comstock will take on the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bloomingdale is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Lawrence, they will play host again and welcome the Indians, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
