The Arroyo Grande Eagles have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 46-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Orcutt Academy on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Arroyo Grande has scored all season.
Orcutt Academy found their leader in underclassman Elizabeth Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 17 rebounds. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last 12 games she's played. Lylah Garcia was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Arroyo Grande's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-5. As for Orcutt Academy, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Righetti the next time they take the court. Orcutt Academy will head out to face Righetti at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Arroyo Grande will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
