The GALA Goddesses were the 39-37 winner over the Dorsey Dons when they last played one another last Monday, but their luck changed this time around. GALA took a 36-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dorsey on Monday. GALA's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
GALA lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Leland Holleman, who scored 15 points. That was a full 53.6% of GALA's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lauren Pang-Le, who scored nine points.
GALA's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Dorsey, their victory ended a eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. GALA will take on Fremont at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fremont comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Dorsey, they will play host again and welcome George Washington Prep, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. George Washington Prep presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dorsey in California (George Washington Prep is ranked 423rd, while Dorsey is ranked 967th).
