The Glendale Vikings suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They were outmatched by Windber on the road and fell 57-26. While losing is never fun, Glendale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 590th, while Windber is ranked 199th).
Windber was led to victory by Mariah Andrews and Kaylie Gaye. Andrews dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds, while Gaye scored 16 points along with two steals. Gaye hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Angel James, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Glendale and nudges their season record down to 4-12. As for Windber, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.
Glendale will head out on the road to square off against Moshannon Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Moshannon Valley is on a three-game streak of home losses, Glendale a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Windber will take on Rockwood at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
