Having just played yesterday, the Center Cougars will jump right back in to play the Foothill Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Foothill took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Center, who comes in off a win.
On Thursday, everything went Center's way against Del Campo as Center made off with a 49-28 victory. With Center ahead 33-13 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Center's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madison Shirley Boudreaux led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for her. Miessah Sagun was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 62-15, which was the final score in Foothill's tilt against Lincoln on Thursday. Foothill was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-5.
Foothill's defeat came about despite a quality game from Zeniah Thompson, who scored eight points. Thompson scored a full 53.3% of Foothill's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Center is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-7 record this season. As for Foothill, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
