Howard can bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past the Hephzibah Rebels 16-9. The Huskies' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

MATTHEW GRIFFIN made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up eight earned (and one unearned) runs off 15 hits (and not a single walk). Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. That run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on VICTOR PINKNEY, who scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. JAMAL IVERY also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Howard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Howard picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-13. As for Hephzibah, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

Coming up, Howard will venture away from home to square off against Northeast at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Northeast has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.4 runs per game on average), something Howard will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hephzibah, they will head out to challenge Westside at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
