The postseason has brought with it a whole lot of change in the power rankings. A special shoutout goes to Owatonna's senior Jason Williamson, who scored six total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Can't Touch This
Owatonna's 49 - 25 win over Northfield last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Jason Williamson. Williamson ran for 477 yards and also punched in six touchdowns. That performance landed Williamson among the top power-ranked players for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of last week's main attractions was the confrontation between Blaine and Prior Lake, 6th and 22nd in the power rankings, respectively. Blaine had all the answers against Prior Lake, winning 34 - 7. Blaine saw its record improve to 10-0 and its power rank jump ten places as a result.
No Stoppin 'Em
It was another game, another high-octane performance for Elk River last week (their 3rd in a row). It breezed past Sauk Rapids-Rice with a final score of 52 - 28. Elk River found its leader in an underclassman: Carter Otto earned three touchdowns and 190 yards rushing the ball, which was enough to make him one of the team's best players. The combined 80-point effort made this the highest-scoring game in the power rankings for the week.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Minnetonka (19th in the power rankings) and Eden Prairie (3rd). The teams have their eyes fixed on the championship after last-week playoff conquests. Only one team will win this week, so we'll find out on Friday which team fails to repeat its success.
