It was a proper cat-fight when Jackson challenged M.L. King on Saturday. Jackson put the hurt on M.L. King with a sharp 17-1 win. Considering the Jaguars have won 13 games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Maceo White, who scored four runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Tyler Dunn was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
White wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Jackson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for Jackson: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 10.
Meanwhile, Mays came up short against Forest Park on Friday and fell 10-7.
Jarquez Jordan was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.
In other batting news, Amarion Robinson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Emmanuel Culpatrick also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Jackson's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mays, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Jackson has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .487. However, it's not like Mays struggles in that department as they've averaged .460. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Jackson took their victory against Mays in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1. Does Jackson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mays turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
