The Lake Highland Prep Highlanders are taking a road trip to challenge the Satellite Scorpions at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Lake Highland Prep took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They blew past Windermere Prep 12-2. The win continues a trend for the Highlanders in their matchups with the Lakers: they've now won five in a row.

The team relied heavily on Alex Khalil, who scored a run and stole four bases while going 2-for-2. He has become a key player for Lake Highland Prep: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 7-11 otherwise. Clark Zerba also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Lake Highland Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .552. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Satellite waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Warriors a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Scorpions have won six games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Michael Faucher tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Brandon Reiter was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Brady Roberts, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Satellite pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Highland Prep, their record now sits at 10-11.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lake Highland Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Satellite struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
