The Cowanesque Valley Indians won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Troy, falling 64-16. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cowanesque Valley has scored all season.
Leading Troy to victory were Kailyn Sterling and Alyssa Parks. Sterling scored 13 points along with four steals and three blocks, while Parks scored 22 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Parks has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Seeley, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Cowanesque Valley's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.3 points per game. As for Troy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cowanesque Valley will face off against Williamson at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
