On Friday, West Cabarrus earned a 59-47 victory over Mooresville. Given West Cabarrus' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Mooresville is ranked 387th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Palisades' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Olympic.
Tynilla Simpkins put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Estelle Macho, who scored five points along with three steals.
Palisades used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Olympic. And. Jala Jones made the most of the opportunity, scoring two points along with seven rebounds and two steals. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

As for Palisades, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
Everything went West Cabarrus' way against Palisades in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as West Cabarrus made off with a 59-36 win. Will West Cabarrus repeat their success, or does Palisades have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
