Panorama is 2-8 against Kennedy since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Pythons are taking a road trip to square off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Panorama's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 31-0 victory over Reseda. The Pythons haven't had any issues with the Regents recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Meanwhile, Kennedy blew past Van Nuys, posting a 40-10 victory. With the Cougars ahead 37-3 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Panorama better keep an eye on Diego Montes. He was instrumental in Kennedy's win, throwing for 211 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes, while also punching in one score on the ground. What's more, Montes racked up 145 passer rating, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Josue Sandoval was another key player, rushing for 104 yards and one TD on only seven carries.
Kennedy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 245 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Van Nuys only rushed for 145.
One reason for the win was Kennedy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Jaycoby Carter, James Montes, and Kevin Gatewood, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Panorama's record is now 5-1. As for Kennedy, their record now sits at 4-1.
Panorama took a serious blow against Kennedy when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 47-14. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Montes, who rushed for 70 yards and four touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 225 yards and one TD while completing 83.3% of his passes. Now that the Pythons know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
