Juniata is 10-0 against the Buffaloes since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Juniata Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Newport Buffaloes at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Juniata managed to keep up with the Rams until halftime last Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Juniata's rough 51-29 defeat to the Rams might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Juniata has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Newport's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight defeat. They took a 36-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of Greenwood. Newport has not had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Juniata's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Newport, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-13.
Everything came up roses for Juniata against the Buffaloes in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 49-19 victory. With Juniata ahead 24-4 at the half, the game was all but over already.
