Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Thacher). They blew past the Bishop Diego Cardinals 16-4 on Thursday. The Toads not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16, 2024 (when they won 13-0).
Cole Mason made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). He is becoming a predictor of Thacher's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 3-1 (and 3-5 when he doesn't). Mason was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.
