We've got a battle between Cougars coming up. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Center will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Mesa Verde on Monday. Center was the clear victor by a 12-2 margin over Mesa Verde. While the Cougars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Andy Hintz made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.
In other batting news, Connor Goldfarb was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Andrew Vang, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Center always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mesa Verde only posted an OBP of .267.
Meanwhile, El Dorado entered their tilt with Galt on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Warriors a 10-0 shutout.
JJ Allen and Joe Parsons did most of the damage at the plate: Allen went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Parsons went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one RBI. El Dorado is undefeated when Parsons posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Rylan Phillips was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Center's win bumped their record up to 7-2-1. As for El Dorado, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
Center took their win against El Dorado in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 8-2. Will Center repeat their success, or does El Dorado has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
