Meanwhile, Huckaby tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. At the plate, Carey went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs, while Huckaby went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Those two runs gave Carey a new career-high.
In other batting news, Harris County got a massive performance out of Chloe Wolfenbarger, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI Wolfenbarger has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Gatewood, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Harris County's victory bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Starr's Mill, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harris County will host Calvary Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Starr's Mill, they will challenge Northside at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
