The Frontier Titans will take on the Highland Scots at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Frontier is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
Frontier took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Garces Memorial as they made off with a 7-1 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Landon Nettles spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Frontier let Jaylen Tia and Landon McDonald run wild. Tia went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while McDonald went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Tia is becoming a predictor of Frontier's success: when he posts at least one home run the team is 4-1 (and 8-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was TJ Archuleta, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Frontier lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are 4-1 when they post two or more home runs.
Meanwhile, Highland came into Friday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over Independence on Friday.
Highland saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Legan, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Legan has posted since April 2nd.
Frontier pushed their record up to 12-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Highland, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.
Everything went Frontier's way against Highland when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Frontier made off with a 15-2 win. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Scots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
