Clay hasn't had much luck against St. Augustine recently, but that could start to change on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Clay took a loss when they played away from home back in September, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They took down Ridgeview 27-13.

Landon Martin went supernova, throwing for 202 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes, while also rushing for 93 yards and one TD. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024. MiKeise Battle was Martin's top target, picking up 119 receiving yards and one score.
Meanwhile, St. Augustine strolled into their game last Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 41-21 margin over Columbia. Considering the Yellow Jackets have won three contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
St. Augustine's win came from a few key players Clay will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Somourian Wingo, who picked up 151 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in one TD on the ground. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 101.4 receiving yards per game. Another player making a difference was Durell Preston, who rushed for 104 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries.
St. Augustine's run defense was locked in: Columbia could only muster 1.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Mason Beane for the heroic effort on defense: he. St. Augustine's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 5.2.
St. Augustine's defense didn't let Xavier Collins, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Beane, Damien Spivey, and Brandon Whitfield Jr, who each picked up 1.5 sacks apiece. St. Augustine got some further help from Beane: he picked up 1.5 sacks and made 15 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Clay's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for St. Augustine, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
Clay was taken down by St. Augustine 56-6 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Blue Devils were down 49-0.
