West Valley has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Liberty Bison at 5:30 p.m.
West Valley's 16-5 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were dealt a 58-26 defeat at the hands of Tahquitz on Thursday.
Meanwhile, winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to post nine more assists than your opponent, a fact Liberty proved on Tuesday. They walked away with a 43-35 win over Elsinore. The win was just what Liberty needed coming off of a 64-24 loss in their prior contest.
Liberty's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alex Barajas led the charge by scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Barajas has scored at least 25% of Liberty's points. Another player making a difference was Kelli Harris-Wellman, who scored six points along with 13 rebounds and four steals.
West Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Liberty, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Everything came up roses for West Valley against Liberty in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 56-15 victory. With West Valley ahead 35-8 at the half, the match was all but over already.
