The Greater Nanticoke Area Trojans waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Wyoming Area 70-39 at home. Given Greater Nanticoke Area's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while Wyoming Area is ranked 538th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Addison Gaylord, who scored 14 points along with three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gaylord has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Morgan Slusser, who scored seven points.
Greater Nanticoke Area now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Wyoming Area, they bumped their record down to 3-11 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Greater Nanticoke Area will challenge Holy Redeemer at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Holy Redeemer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Monday. As for Wyoming Area, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hanover Area at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Hanover Area is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
