Softball Recap: Alameda Has No Trouble Against Mitchell

After only two runs in their last game, Alameda made sure to put some runs up on the board against Mitchell on Saturday. The Pirates put the hurt on the Marauders with a sharp 24-13 victory. Considering the Pirates have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Zila Bobian was a standout: she fired off five runs, two triples, and two stolen bases while going 5-for-5. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Peyton Trujillo also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Alameda kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 26 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Alameda's record now sits at 12-9. As for Mitchell, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Alameda beat the Marauders by a score of 19-6 later that day.
