After two games on the road, Prospect is heading back home. They will take on the Leigh Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Prospect is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in California (they are ranked 220th, while Leigh is ranked 702nd).
Last Thursday, Prospect came up short against Santa Teresa and fell 61-54.
The losing side was boosted by Sadie Slaughter, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That was a full 44.4% of Prospect's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Anbrielle Joan Mangoba, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Leigh had just enough and edged Lincoln out 53-51 on Thursday.
Emily Chen was nothing short of spectacular: she scored 21 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Catalina Williams was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Prospect's defeat ended a 11-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-4. As for Leigh, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-13 record this season.
Prospect didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Leigh in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 38-32 victory. Will Prospect repeat their success, or does Leigh have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
