Even though St. Andrew's Episcopal has not done well against Georgetown Visitation Prep recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. St. Andrew's Episcopal managed a 57-52 victory over Georgetown Visitation Prep. The score was all tied up 26-26 at the break, but St. Andrew's Episcopal was the better team in the second half.
St. Andrew's Episcopal's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lamaria Estridge, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Anna beth Tsai-turton, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Potomac School is ranked highly in their home state, and last Tuesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Connelly School of the Holy Child. Potomac School snuck past Connelly School of the Holy Child with a 54-49 win.
Potomac School can attribute much of their success to Catherine Letendre, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds, and Zora Burrell, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burrell has scored all season.
St. Andrew's Episcopal's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Potomac School, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
