Williams Valley and Tri-Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Williams Valley Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tri-Valley Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Tri-Valley took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Williams Valley, who comes in off a win.
Even though Williams Valley has not done well against Marian Catholic recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Williams Valley came out on top against Marian Catholic by a score of 42-29. The victory was all the more spectacular given Williams Valley's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 285th, while Marian Catholic is ranked 98th).
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Tri-Valley, who are still winless after their 15th matchup. They were dealt a 55-23 loss at the hands of Tamaqua on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Tri-Valley has suffered yet this season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Avery Miller, who scored six points. Grace Header was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Williams Valley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Tri-Valley, they dropped their record down to 0-15 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road.
Williams Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Tri-Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 51-40. Does Williams Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tri-Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
