If the Solebury Spartans were feeling good off their 59-17 takedown of Delaware Valley Friends on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Solebury was the victim of a tough 42-19 loss at the hands of Stuart Country Day on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Solebury has scored all season.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Naleli Coplan, who scored ten points. Coplan scored a full 52.6% of Solebury's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Autumn Turner, who scored six points.
Solebury's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Stuart Country Day, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Solebury will be home for the holidays to greet Villa Victoria Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Villa Victoria Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Stuart Country Day will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lawrenceville School at 1:30 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
