Mt. Diablo hasn't had much luck against Berean Christian recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Red Devils will face off against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Mt. Diablo has given up an average of 13.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Thursday just wasn't the day for Mt. Diablo's offense. They came up short against Miramonte on Thursday, falling 30-0.
Meanwhile, while Berean Christian put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Concord. The Eagles put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 6-0 victory. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
The result came thanks to Colton Swift's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Luke Mahon was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
Berean Christian's record is now 6-8. As for Mt. Diablo, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
Mt. Diablo's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Red Devils have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Berean Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Mt. Diablo continue to outrun the ball?
Mt. Diablo suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Berean Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
