The Calvary Baptist Cougars will face off against the Norton Science & Language Academy Rockets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Calvary Baptist is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.
Norton Science & Language Academy's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Tuesday: Calvary Baptist hadn't allowed a single run the last five times they've hit the field. The Cougars never let The Webb Schools get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory on Monday. Considering the Cougars have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Michael Duran made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Justin Delgadillo and Jake Guillen did most of the damage at the plate: Delgadillo scored three runs while going 3-for-3, while Guillen scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Devin Debuono, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Calvary Baptist always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Norton Science & Language Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past Packinghouse Christian Academy 11-1 on Friday.
Like Calvary Baptist, Norton Science & Language Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Nicolas Terrazas. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Terrazas was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That stolen base was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Isaiah Saldana was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Desiree Gago was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Calvary Baptist's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Norton Science & Language Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.
Norton Science & Language Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Calvary Baptist hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .378. It's a different story for Norton Science & Language Academy, though, as they've only averaged .197. Will they be able to contain Calvary Baptist's hitters?
Everything went Calvary Baptist's way against Norton Science & Language Academy in their previous matchup back in March, as Calvary Baptist made off with a 23-4 victory. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rockets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
