Softball Recap: North Schuylkill's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

North Schuylkill had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Pottsville Crimson Tide as they made off with a 12-1 win. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by ten runs or more this season.

Brigid Flynn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two RBI, and one run.

In other pitching news, Olivia Jones looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, North Schuylkill let Monica Selgrade and Kylie Meskunas run wild. Selgrade scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Meskunas scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Selgrade also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gianna Capone, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

North Schuylkill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

North Schuylkill's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Pottsville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
