The Servite Friars's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Yucca Valley as Servite made off with a 59-36 win. Given Servite's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 326th, while Yucca Valley is ranked 738th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jadon Pierce, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. The game was Pierce's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Mills, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Servite's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Yucca Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Servite's road trip will continue as they head out to face San Pedro at 3:30 p.m. on December 28, 2023. San Pedro has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 424 points over their last six contests. Yucca Valley will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Clark at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clark knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Yucca Valley likes a good challenge.
