The Arcadia Apaches will head out to take on the La Mirada Matadores at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Arcadia is coming into the game hot, having won their last 11 games.
Arcadia can't be too worried about heading out to take on La Mirada: they just beat Crescenta Valley at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Apaches had just enough and edged out the Falcons 6-4.
Julian Salmon and Avery Truesdale did most of the damage at the plate: Salmon went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Truesdale went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Truesdale has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Leo Peniche, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, La Mirada posted their closest victory since April 1st two weeks ago. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Bellflower 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Matadores.
Noah Dabela tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.
On the hitting side, Kevin Jeon was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.
La Mirada hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive matchups.
La Mirada pushed their record up to 19-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Arcadia, their record is now 24-2.
Both Arcadia and La Mirada just can't seem to miss. The Apaches have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.1 hits per game. However, it's not like La Mirada struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
