Two dominant signal callers in Kaine Hill and Rhys Ragan are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Springtown Porcupines will be playing in front of their home fans against the Decatur Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Springtown's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Western Hills 62-0. The Porcupines' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Springtown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Pilot Grubis led the charge by picking up 114 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Those three receiving touchdowns gave Grubis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Mendoza, who picked up 78 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Springtown proved: they limited Western Hills to a paltry 2.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Kasen Beaman for the heroic effort on defense: he. Springtown didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.2.
Springtown didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Caymon Watson and Zane Morton. Another thorn in Western Hills' side was Rome Ewell, who made eight total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Decatur last Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Western Hills out of the water with a 70-7 final score. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-0.
Springtown better keep an eye on Jake Milligan. He was instrumental in Decatur's win, rushing for 157 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries. Another player making a difference was Jamari Fletcher, who rushed for 67 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries.
Decatur's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Springtown, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Springtown has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 173.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Decatur struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 220.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Springtown skirted past Decatur 41-38 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Do the Porcupines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
