Baseball Recap: Bishop Union Now 8-2 over Last Ten Games

Bishop Union never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Kern Valley on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Broncs with a sharp 12-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Broncos, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Will Kemp was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Bishop Union let Richie Talavera and Brayden Leeson run wild. Talavera got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Leeson went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Trejo, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Bishop Union has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Kern Valley, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6.

Looking ahead, Bishop Union will host Frazier Mountain at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Broncos are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Kern Valley, they are taking a road trip to square off against Mammoth at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
