Two dominant forwards in Morgan Haught and Anna Arai are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Frontier Cougars will be playing at home against the Catholic Central Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Frontier's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while the Crusaders have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Last Monday, Frontier had to suffer through a rough 48-19 loss at the hands of the Pilots. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Frontier has scored all season.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-34, which was the final score in Catholic Central's tilt against the Seminoles on Monday. Catholic Central has not had much luck with the Seminoles recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Catholic Central might have lost, but man, Arai was a machine: she dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Arai is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Ella Maragos was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Frontier's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6. As for Catholic Central, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.
Frontier was able to grind out a solid win over the Crusaders in their previous meeting on Saturday, winning 45-35. Does Frontier have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Crusaders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
